Not-for-Profit Nominees:

Lancaster County Conservancy
The Lancaster County Conservancy has been described as “exceptionally committed to its mission and vision and keenly focused on how its organizational structure and strategic planning affects its ability to serve the community.” It is known for its stewardship of the community’s environmental resources.

Lancaster Day Care Center
The Lancaster Day Care Center is described as a place “where parents pay less but get more.” They provide quality, affordable childcare, while caring for their employees and their neighborhood. They provide life-enhancing experiences every day for the children, the parents and the staff.

Love INC
Love INC cares about its community and is ready to respond to needs that otherwise fall through the gaps in resources. They have developed credibility with their clients and church partners and have many examples of going beyond the expected to help clients. Their decisions are based on their values.

Visiting Nurse Association

Individual Nominees:

Mr. Beeman demonstrates every day his respect for his customers’ and employees’ dignity and worth. He calls it “Human Capital.” He looks at what is the right thing to do for people, rather than what would be a money maker. He takes seriously his role to serve as the moral compass for his organization.

Gary Clouser, President, Brethren Village
Mr. Clouser is described as an exceptional person with a great ear for listening. He is a very compassionate individual that sees a special gift in the elderly. He is truly respected as a visionary leader for his organization, a teacher to his staff and a friend to his residents.

Gerry Ganse, Ganse Apothecary & Red Rose Awards
Gerry Ganse has a strong entrepreneurial spirit and cares deeply about his community. He has a solid personal value system and it is demonstrated through his business. Gerry believes in his employees and his businesses are a success because of it.

Gerald Meck, CEO, United Disabilities Services
Mr. Meck is described as a treating all people with dignity and respect. He gives his employees and his clients opportunities to learn and grow. He challenges people from their comfort zones and is described as an important mentor. He is fair, consistent and understanding of each person’s job and life situation.

Stephen Powell, President, Powell Steel Corporation
Mr. Powell uses his leadership skills to deal with social issues confronting today’s society. He has always put a great deal of his personal time, money and energy into programs to improve the community. He provides meaningful employment and treats each individual with respect. For him – integrity is everything.

Mr. Scheffey is described as a man of deep personal and professional integrity who is committed to fairness and justice in all of his personal and business dealings.
